MICROBIO

Home Maintenance

Overview

Branding so cute you'll want to kill the mascot.

My Role

lead designer brand strategist

I was responsible for creating the company’s visual identity and online presence. This included designing the brand's logo, as well as the logos for each of the products, developing cohesive branding, and building a user-friendly website to showcase the products and educate customers about the benefits of microbial control in their homes.

The Goal

To develop a compelling brand identity for a company that makes environmentally responsible products that kill harmful microbes inside indoor living spaces.

The Challenge

To take a subject like the murdering of tiny living things and make it into a wholesome, family-friendly brand that would engage the target audience. It was also a challenge to present the products used for said murderings as environmentally-friendly and safe for pets and other similarly tiny living things.

The solution

product-specific branding

Developed distinct, approachable logos for each product, using playful and friendly designs to take the bite out of killing and make the idea of microbe elimination less intimidating and more relatable for homeowners.

environmentally-friendly color palette

I chose bright green as the primary branding color to emphasize the company's commitment to eco-friendly solutions, aligning the brand visually with environmental responsibility.

Informative website

Designed a website that combines clear navigation with a heavy focus on accessibility, educational content, and a cohesive brand identity, ensuring an engaging and informative experience for potential customers.

The results

While MICROBIO Home Maintenance didn't reach its full market potential, the branding and design work provided a professional foundation for launching the products. The playful yet professional logos were well-received in initial customer feedback, and customers enjoyed the website for its clean layout and ease of use. This project allowed me to develop skills in crafting a cohesive brand identity and designing for environmental and health-conscious audiences.

What I Learned

This project taught me the importance of balancing professionalism with approachability in branding, especially for sensitive topics like home health and sanitation. I also gained valuable experience in designing for eco-conscious markets and creating cohesive branding across multiple products. Most importantly, I learned how to adapt to a client’s vision while delivering creative solutions that resonate with their target audience.
